In the market to buy a Nissan sedan but can’t make up your mind about which to buy between the Altima and the Maxima? We help you make up your mind by providing you with an in-depth comparison of the two Nissan sedans below.
Nissan Altima vs Nissan Maxima
The Nissan Altima is a mid-sized sedan favored by first-time car buyers, young commuters, and so on. The Nissan Maxima is a sports sedan with an exterior styling that makes it look more like a luxury sports vehicle than your everyday sedan. The Maxima is preferred by individuals looking for a sedan that provides impeccable speed and handling capabilities.
The Nissan Altima trumps over the Nissan Maxima when it comes to cabin space availability. The Altima offers passenger space measuring 100.8 cubic feet, which is significantly more than the Maxima’s 98.5 cubic feet passenger volume availability.
The engine power capabilities of the Nissan Altima pales in comparison with the Nissan Maxima. Where the Altima is powered by a standard 2.5l 4-cylinder engine capable of 188hp, the Maxima powers forward with its 300 hp 3.5l V6 engine.
The Altima is more fuel-efficient than the Maxima though, with EPA ratings of 28mpg in the city streets and 39 mpg on the highway for its standard 2.5l engine configuration. Estimated EPA ratings for Nissan Maxima stand at 20 mpg/city and 30 mpg/highway.
Which Should You Drive?
The Nissan Maxima provides a superior driving experience with its sports-tuned suspension and powerful engine output. You will love the tight handling ability that makes steering it a joy! The Nissan Altima, on the other hand, is well-suited for individuals looking for a Nissan sedan to facilitate their regular commute with maximum fuel efficiency.
